PTFE seals are used when elastomeric seals fail to meet the necessary chemical resistance and/or temperature range.

Also known as Polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE exhibits a very low coefficient of friction, thus providing seals with high wear resistance.

PTFE seals are commonly made out of either virgin PTFE or PTFE and a filler. Fillers such as bronze, graphite, and carbon are often used to improve wear resistance, chemical compatibility, temperature range, and color. Each filler creates a unique chemical structure when combined with PTFE.

PTFE is used in general industrial, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications for dynamic sealing. With an assortment of PTFE seals to choose from, Wyatt Seal is your one-stop-shop for PTFE. Need help? Contact your Wyatt Seal representative for assistance.
